GOP Convention: Day 1 Delayed, But Will Still Cover

September 1, 2008 · 1 Comment

John McCain announced today that in the wake of Hurricane Gustov, the first day of the GOP convention here in Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN will be cancelled. The official business will still go on. The scheduled speakers will not be speaking obviously, and my guess is that they will move them onto Tuesday’s schedule and just condense the convention to 3 days. Gustov looks like its weakening and the states affected and the federal government have done so much preliminary work, all you will probably see on the TV is water. If this Hurricane proves to be not as bad as it is hyped, expect the convention to go on normally with a few reminders about how you can help.

Nevertheless, I will be at the convention for the official business and will post about it tomorrow night.

Also another reason why McCain will win. A very effective ad. McCain has a very good advertising team and he should keep it up.

Bye, Bye Bounce!

July 29, 2008 · Leave a Comment

According to a new Rasmussen Reports poll (which happens to be more accurate than other polls because they actually poll likely voters), McCain and Obama are in a dead heat. So much for that great “bounce” Obama got. Nevermind Gallup, they only poll registered, not likely voters. But when Gallup actually did poll likely voters, they found that McCain led Obama by 4 points.

The only place Democrats want to drill…

Via Michelle and the TN GOP.

Everyone order one! Nancy and Harry can’t last long.

Also, great news out of the Senate… The Senate Republicans have started to block all Harry’s bills until they allow a vote on offshore drilling.

Keep up the public pressure to drill here.

“Non-Political”… Really?

July 24, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Barack Obama is obviously trying to get the critical “I wish the US was Europe” voter bloc.

During the speech, he claims he is a “fellow citizen of the world”. Wow, I guess the election for President of the World is fast approaching.

His campaign claims that the speech is “non-political”. Really? Then why is the Obama campaign raising money off the European trip? And what’s really funny is the Obama campaign has the audacity to claim the ABC blog post (previous link) is “misleading”. OK, like ABC says, you be the judge.

For a candidate of the United States of America to be campaigning for our Presidency in a foriegn country is outrageous. Apparantely, Obama is supposed to get a significant bounce in the polls because of his rock star World Tour. Not seeing it.

I bet Hillary’s watching from the sidelines grinning, just waiting for 2012 to come around the corner.

Real Hope: Oil Declines Under $125; Dollar Strengthens

July 23, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Just a couple weeks ago, we were worrying about $150, and for good reasons… oil was almost $148 per barrel.

Thanks to a combination of factors, oil has dropped like a rock to under $125 a barrel, a sign of hope for an economy beleagured by high gasoline prices. Expect to see significant relief at the pump if this decline keeps up or stays stagnant in the low $120s. As we saw per AAA national gasoline price average, the previous record set a $4.11 is now down to $4.05. That takes a lot folks.

P.S. Sorry for the long lull in posting. I have been on various vacations and I have been very busy. I am back at full speed! I am especially excited for the convention coverage I will be hosting.
